The only case in which the Board of Trustees of the Oradell Public Library will not be involved in a conditional gift is when the monies are designated to purchase a book(s) in memory or in honor of an individual or organization the donor may select the subject of interest for the purchase of the book(s), but not the title(s). In the case of monies donated with a request to name a room or area or place a commemorative plaque in the Library, the Board of Trustees of the Oradell Public Library will rule on the appropriateness of the name submitted. Unless otherwise designated, gifts of money, stocks, or securities may be accepted by the Library, the Friends of the Library, or the Oradell Public Library Foundation as the donor sees fit. This includes all formats vinyl LPs, seven + twelve-inch singles, ten-inch LPs + singles, CDs, 8-tracks, paper + plastic discs, picture discs and one-of-a kind or rare cassettes. This includes unsolicited or donated sectarian material. The ARChive of Contemporary Music (ARC) collects and preserves recorded popular music and music related materials from around the world. Due to space limitations, the library can only accept a limited amount. The donations of books, DVDs, CDs, and the like may be included in the collection, discarded, sold in the Friends of the Library Book Sale or to a private dealer, among other options. Your local library can provide acceptable donation guidelines. Libraries typically have donation guidelines posted on their website, others you will need to contact by phone. Many libraries, or the Friends of the Library group, have regular book sales and welcome appropriate materials for resale. Donate your used books to charities like the Humane Society, the Humane Society, Rescue Mission, Salvation Army, Good Samaritan Ministries, Habitat for Humanity, or Hope Services.
